Where you mentioned the Brownshirts is particularly important to me. Of all the moments from that day, I still think about that one the most. It was the one that got away, as I wish I had the quick thinking to get my phone out and take a picture (my battery was dying by that point, so I stopped taking photos after the rally was over).
That memory: just some ordinary, politically engaged teenager getting piled on by random strangers, is one of the main reasons I believe strongly in having this piece out in the universe, as it’s only a memory now, and I have always wished it was something more. Maybe that’s where creativity and the need to tell stories comes from? Our undying urge to make something valuable to society out of something as insignificant as a few cells in a memory bank.
